Schneider Electric sponsors The Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project along the U.S. Gulf Coast
This year Habitat for Humanity’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project will be held along the U.S. Gulf Coast, May 11-16, 2008. The project is an annual, internationally-recognized week where the former U.S. President and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, along with his wife, Rosalynn, join thousands of volunteers to build and renovate simple, decent and affordable housing in partnership with low-income families.

During the weeklong event, Carter Project volunteers will build 10 new houses in Biloxi and another 20 in nearby Pascagoula. Also, 30 other homes will be repaired or rehabbed in Gulfport, Miss., and 48 new house frames will be built in a “Framing Frenzy” for use by the affiliate later this year.

As a Habitat for Humanity partner, Schneider Electric’s North American Operating Division will sponsor this event by donating Square D® equipment to outfit all houses to be built. Company employees will also volunteer on site.
